The sad mouse

The sad mouse

Once about 10 years ago there was a village of mice who treated everyone by their abilities. It was rather sad for some mice who were jeered and teased because they couldn’t do the things the others could. The sad mouse named Philip was disabled, when he was young a cat just managed to get his front leg and he nearly died because he lost his paw. He’d never been able to do any tricks again. Philip limped home after another unsuccessful day and unlocked the door to his house made of cheese. He sat down in the armchair by the TV where he was about to turn it on,when he heard a deafening roar outside. Philip stared at the wall in horror it was every mouse’s fear, The Cat was Back! Philip was up and out of the door limping so fast it was like a mouse trying to stuff a huge piece of bree cheese in it’s mouth. All the mice were panicking and scampering around like crazy.

The Mayor Mr. BigButt called for silence, throughout the crowd of mice there was silence and everyone had stopped moving and was listening “ we need some ideas of what to do” squeaked Mr.BigButt several mice put their paws up, Philip was trying to think of what to do when suddenly a blindingly bright idea dawned in Philip’s head. He raised his good paw. The mayor looked around not too many people he thought worriedly but then he saw another paw rise, it was none other than Philip the mouse who was attacked by a cat when he was young. “You there Philip what is your idea” “well” squeaked Philip who was determined to help the village “well cats are good at hearing and smelling us and the cat out there can’t see us so we should cover our bodies in mud from head to tail and then stay as still as a piece of moldy stinky cheese” “you’re right” gasped Mr.BigButt. So everyone scampered to the mud spa and ducked under. When everyone rised Philip squeaked “everyone stay still”. Half an hour passed and the cat was gone everyone stayed up late and held Philip on their shoulders. Philip became the hero of the village and everyone lived happily ever after.
